The Minister of Transport, Giannis Karousos, gave a statement to the Parliament regarding the arrivals of private jets and hospital flights from the two airports of the Republic of Cyprus in the middle of quarantine.
According to his response to Parliament, the Department of Civil Aviation maintains data on the arrival of private jets and hospital flights from the two airports of the Republic, during the crisis period, ie from March 13, 2020 to May 25, 2020.
Specifically, at Larnaca Airport “Glafkos Clerides” 18 private flights were recorded, with a total of 131 passengers and 49 hospital flights, with a total of 34 patients
At the same time, during the crisis at Paphos Airport, there were a total of 10 private flights, with a total of 22 passengers, as well as two hospital flights, with a total of 0 patients.
As Mr. Karousos explained, regarding the people who may have been subjected to compulsory self-restraint or were ill, the Medical Services of the Ministry of Health are responsible, while the Ministry of Tourism is responsible for the marinas.
